Reflect: After the sacking of Jerusalem in the year 70 by the Romans in the wake of the Jewish Revolt, the Jewish people were scattered in what has been referred to in the historiography as “the Diaspora.” After reading Herzl’s “A Solution of the Jewish Question,” and drawing upon the readings from previous weeks, postulate on the role of the Diaspora with regard to the development of Zionism.
